A resident of Boston, James Whiteside is today a Principal Dancer with the Boston Ballet. He received a contract with the Boston Ballet 2 at the age of 18, after his special talent was discovered by the company’s Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen.
Many choreographers have chosen Whiteside specifically to dance their roles or even choreographed special solos for him in their works. In addition to contemporary pieces by Mark Morris, Jiri Kilian and Jorma Elo, he has performed many main roles in the classical ballet repertoir.
